For example when compressors are on sale all of the compressor demo's are recharged so that you can get hooked on them and then feel the need to buy them at a great price. This way They receive some compensation and it is short enough that people can't use them in a ton of sessions.Ģ) Or perhaps you pay a $25 demo recharge which re-activates all your demo's for 14 days.ģ) or even having a demo recharge month where it coincides with some deals. I would just like to see an option for comparing plugs when I am ready to purchase.ġ) a rental program for a short timed demo. Again, I have no desire to abuse plugin demo's. My main concern is the apparent policy that prohibits future recharges. I don't think he was trying to come across as negative, I think he was just doing his job.
I really hope however took your request was just having a bad day. Plugins on top of that has had me spend in the thousands with UA. I have also bought their most expensive and flagship UAD-2 Nevana 128 kit which was certainly not chump change. I bought my UAD-1 upon initial release back in 2001. I have only activated once and was not given a hard time at all, but I was not told to be careful as I now only have one left. Sorry for the rant everyone, just feeling a little frustrated.I'm on your side with this. Sorry for the rant everyone, just feeling a little frustrated. I would have bought the Waves SSL bundle if would not have been able to try the Precision comp. I love UA, but I can promise you that they will lose money from me in the future without being able to try plugs out that I consider purchasing.

Even a 2 day trial would be enough to make up your mind. I would think that when a legitimate customer is looking at a few plugs to buy, they could get a recharge to compare them. I can buy a piece of hardware from Mercenary, try it, and then return it if needs be, I can try Voxengo plugs for as long as I want (with a nice beep inserted), and I can test drive a car while I compare it to other models being sold. In addition I have been thinking about getting the limiter, but when i cannot compare (remember only two authorizations) it to other brands out there side by side I am not going to risk buying the UA limiter because I seem to remember that two years ago it sounded good. I would not have bought these if I could not have compared them directly. I will be honest I will probably buy the LA3A, and the prec buss comp because I was able to compare them to the other plugs in my current arsenal, and I found the prec buss comp to be a good substitute for the SSL, in fact I liked it even more on a lot of stuff. I could understand if I had been doing this often and was abusing it, but once in the last 3 years? How am I supposed to remember how a plug sounded 3 years ago back when I was able to demo it? In addition how do I compare them to plug's that have come out since, or on current sessions to make a confident decision? And then to be given the exciting news that I can never try any more plugs in the future once the trial is done.

I must admit that after being a customer for about 4 or 5 years, buying 3 cards, plus 9 plugs on top of what comes with the cards (add it up, it ain't chump change), with a UAD-2 planned for this month I find it odd to be given a hard time about wanting to test out a few plugs before purchase. He said if I call in and ask for any more they will flag my account so that I cannot have any more activated in the future. Today I called to have a few plugs demo's reactivated to see what plug's I want to get with the great deals this month, and the associate allowed two activations and no more! I have not attempted to reactivate any since. I had my Fairchild demo reactivated back in 2005 and I in turn bought it.
